Manage search & watch history

Your YouTube TV search and watch history makes it easy to find videos you recently watched and improves your recommendations on YouTube TV. You can delete or pause your search and watch history to remove videos from your history.

Pause your search & watch history

You can pause your search or watch history when you do not want to influence future recommendations and search results. For example, if you're researching a topic for a school project that you aren’t personally interested in, you can pause your search and watch history beforehand. Remember to resume your history when you’re done.

Pause your search history

  1. Select your profile picture  and then Settings .
  2. Select Privacy .
  3. Toggle Pause search history.
Note: Pausing your search history will impact both YouTube TV and your YouTube search history.

Pause your watch history

Note: When you pause your watch history, any videos that you watch won't show in your history and won’t be used to improve your recommendations. You can unpause your watch history to start recording history again. Pausing your watch history will only impact YouTube TV. Your YouTube watch history will be unaffected.
