Aria’s “Explore more” and “Translate” functions available without sign-in

Browsing with Opera means that you get Aria – our integrated browser AI – as your sidekick at all times, helping you process the vast amount of information that you’re exposed to on the internet. Previously, you needed to sign in to your Opera account to get Aria’s assistance, but now we’re making it possible for you to use the “Explore more” and “Translate” functions without having to create and log into an Opera account.

These are the first two Aria functions that will be available without needing to sign into your Opera account, which will be followed – in the near future – by full access to Aria without that requirement.

Explore more and Translate are two basic functions that appear when you select text in your Opera browser. The Explore more function allows you to further inform yourself about a specific term or topic, and Translate lets you translate the text into the language you want.

Once you have selected the piece of text you want to know more about or translate, just click the corresponding option and the explanation will appear in the Command Line interface with Aria. You can continue the conversation with Aria there, or you can sign in to move it into a Sidebar chat with Aria. If you want to get back to your website, just click anywhere on the screen outside of the chat box with Aria.

Explore more is a feature that helps you further explore a specific term or topic that you find while browsing online.

If you’re translating something, Aria will translate it to the language that you’ve selected as your browser’s default language. The translation will appear in the Command Line interface too, and from there you can copy it or continue the conversation with Aria.

Get the most out of Aria without signing in

These two functions can now be accessed by anyone using the latest version of Opera One or Opera GX.

The first time you go to a website, select a piece of text, and click on either of the two functions, you will see the Command Line interface appear with a terms of service acceptance message; read it, click to accept, and then you’re ready to go!
